In January 2024, August was selected for Dirigentløftet, Denmark’s national talent program for emerging conductors. Through this initiative, he has taken part in masterclasses with several of the country’s leading professional ensembles, including the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra, Aalborg Symphony Orchestra, Odense Symphony Orchestra and the Danish National Opera (Den Jyske Opera).
As part of the programme, August has performed in concert with various ensembles in Denmark. In december, 2024 with Athelas Sinfonietta, where he performed "Shades of Silence" by icelandic composer Anna Thorvaldssdottir. In may 2025 with The Royal Marine Band and with Randers Kammerorkester and Ars Nova in the autumn of 2025.
In the summer of 2025, August attended a two week masterclass in Austria with Prof. Alexander Polishchuk, former assistant to Ilya Musin at Sankt Petersburg Conservatory. An expierience which greatly impacted August's view on music and his style of conducting.
